Welcome

It is my belief that everyone should be able to make knowledgeable treatment decisions related to their oral health, based upon the latest state-of-the-art technology and medical techniques available in modern dentistry. And it is my goal for this website to serve as an introductory tool to provide you with that information.

I am an inquisitive person and always ask questions which allow me to make informed decisions. I believe that each patient should have the same privilege. The side bar links to the left will take you to my web pages which describe each  topic and, where appropriate, show you examples of therapy that I have provided for my patients.

I hope that this information will assist you in making the appropriate decision regarding your dental health options, and whether you wish to have me provide your dental implant therapy or periodontal treatment. My practice is based upon using high quality skills to provide excellence in service for my patients. I only use the highest quality implant components.

Not only have I been placing implants since 1987, but I have been called upon to correct cases where implants were placed improperly. Positioning dental implants is an art. Surgical therapy is not a procedure that you want to do over; so it is important that your dentist works closely with your implant surgeon to plan your treatment. Doing it right the first time is critical.  I will be a part of your treatment team in planning and executing your therapy.

Our senior patients, or their children, sometimes ask if  I recommend extensive dental reconstruction for them. I answer as I would for my own family members: we are lucky to have available to us the medical skills to reconstruct our mouths towards their original condition:

  • providing natural and pleasing smiles and normal function

  • being able to taste your food and chew normally aiding digestion

  • having self-confidence that your teeth will not fall out when eating in public or at home

  • speaking without difficulty

My implant patient's ages range from 18 to 88 years young!

In making your decision to undertake implant treatment, I suggest that you consider your quality of life - you have worked all your life to provide for your families:

  • shouldn't you have the comfort and function provided by secure teeth rather than a moving denture or having empty spaces where your teeth used to be?

  • dentures block taste buds; don't you deserve to enjoy tasting your food?

  • dentures slip and collect food under and around them harboring germs creating mouth odors; don't you deserve better?

  • don't you deserve to live comfortably?

  • don't you deserve to be able to bite into an apple, a steak or eat corn on the cob?

You have a 'Medical Window of Opportunity' to receive therapy: sometimes unexpected medical conditions develop that prevent you from receiving surgical treatment. Unfortunately, this situation has happened to some of our older patients in the middle of treatment. I strongly recommend that you do your implant treatment as soon as possible; do not postpone this life-improving procedure. You might not be able to receive implant therapy next year.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any general questions. My staff and I look forward to being of service to you.

Sincerely,

Les Burstein, DDS
